> 50% of the world's innovative multinationals in Brabant

We are moving into a top innovation region! On the website of the Brabantse Ontwikkel Maatschappij we read this week that as many as 27 of the 50 companies that rank among the world's most innovative companies operate in the province of Brabant. This is according to research by the Boston Consultancy Group and the Brabant Development Society.

"It is not a goal in itself to attract the entire world top to Brabant," says Eelko Brinkhoff, Director of BOM Foreign Investments & International Trade. "But our research shows that the innovative companies know how to find Brabant well and create a lot of economic value."

Employment

27 innovative companies account for 49 branches across Brabant. They employ 17,000 workers. That does not include the employment it provides for suppliers!

R&D activities

Activities range from a sales office, headquarters, (outsourced) distribution, production and service & repair. Brinkhoff: "Some 30 percent of the companies have research & development activities based in Brabant. That of course fits very well with the innovative character of Brabant." The top 50 most innovative companies in the world was compiled for the 14th time this year by the Boston Consultancy Group. Only eight companies have made the list each year: Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, HP, IBM, Microsoft, Samsung and Toyota.

A detailed report of the study can be found on the Boston Consultancy Group's website: https://www.bcg.com/publications/2020/most-innovative-companies/overview
