CES 2022 Tech Fair - With EZ Factory out of hub Beta

The world's largest tech show, the Consumer Electric Show (CES) kicked off last Wednesday, Jan. 5, in Las Vegas. Many major tech companies are present (but also many absent due to the emergence of the omikron variant of the corona virus). Hub Beta-based EZ Factory is also present as one of the seventy NL companies present, with the valuable EZ GO app they developed.

For the sixth consecutive year, the Dutch (NL Tech) Pavilions are open at CES 2022, where they will showcase tech solutions for a responsible future alongside a 100% circular, XL 3D-printed art display. The NL Tech Pavilions are dedicated spaces designed to foster collaboration, build valuable partnerships and introduce breakthrough NL tech solutions that solve global challenges across a wide range of tech categories, including sustainability and resilience, AI, robotics and quantum computing, health and wellness, smart cities and smart homes, smart mobility and vehicle technology, data security and big data.

"The NL Tech Pavilion at CES 2022 includes two pavilions for the first time, demonstrating and mapping the immense growth of the Dutch tech ecosystem in recent years," said HRH Prince Constantijn of Orange, special envoy of Techleap.nl and the Netherlands. "To solve the urgent challenges we face today, we need to design solutions for the world we will live in tomorrow. Our start-ups and scale-ups have answered the call to accelerate change together.

The NL Tech Pavilion highlights the theme of "tech for a responsible future" through art and design with the addition of three, 100% circular, XL 3D printed partitions on display as the centerpiece of the NL Pavilion in Eureka Park. XL 3D printing pioneer, Aectual has translated the Dutch story of innovation and sustainability into a 3D printed storyboard that references the Netherlands' 2022 CES theme: "Tech for a Responsible Future" and depicts topics such as clean energy, data security and climate change. The Netherlands continues to use innovation to combat climate change and sea level rise, as water is a central theme in the design, as is the blue of the European Union flag. In addition, the Dutch-American relationship is depicted by a traditional Dutch canal house meeting the San Francisco Golden Gate Bridge. Watch a short video on how Aectual brought the design to life here.

These NL companies present are from all over the country and are active in different sectors. For example, the Rotterdam company RanMarine has developed a self-steering robot shark that purifies water. And Nowi Energy from Delft has invented a chip that allows sensors, for example, to draw energy from their immediate environment, such as from light, heat or Wi-Fi signals. This allows them to last for decades without having to recharge them.

Already 14 Dutch prize winners

The CES traditionally awards prizes before the actual show to a select number of inventions of "outstanding design and engineering," so-called CES Innovation Awards. The award winners were announced yesterday: of the entries, 14 NL companies received an Innovation Award - the highest number ever. These award winners can count on a lot of attention at the CES.
