🏅 One entrepreneur, Dan Jing Wu, is in her mid-30s and at the beginning of her career in biomedical engineering. She is trained as a biomedical technologist and as co-founder of VivArt-X, she develops regenerative breast implants. She was voted Het Financieele Dagblad talent 50under35 and the Financial Times put her on its list of the 50 most promising women in the world.
📈 The other, Jan Rietsema, is a physicist with more than 30 years of experience under his belt. A few years ago he was commissioned to write a business plan for Smart BioMaterials Consortium (SBMC) now he sways the scepter there. With a development laboratory on the campus of the Eindhoven University of Technology and a pilot production plant on the High Tech Campus Eindhoven, he is working on a high-quality infrastructure to accelerate the development and production of smart bio- and biocompatible materials.
🎯Dan Jing Wu and Jan Rietsema share a common vision: they want to position Brainport Eindhoven as a world player in the field of biomaterials. To further develop their pioneering work in the biomaterials sector, both VivArt-X and SBMC are using the services of incubator TWICE Eindhoven, building I high tech I success. Aafke Eppinga interviewed them about the challenges of entrepreneurship, the crucial role of local ecosystems, and their drive to inspire the next generation.
